Environmental Health Analysis, Contaminant Transport Modeling
Part of the Environmental Track for undergraduates at the Georgia Institute of Technology, this was my first forray into environmental modeling. With only the most basic GIS knowledge and previous research reports as model input and calibration data, a groundwater transport model was created using ACTS (Analytical Contaminant Transport Analysis System). Ground well monitoring station data provided a calibration point, and current contaminant concentrations were determined by running an extended period simulation of groundwater flow. Results were presented from both deterministic and stochastic models.
